I don't understand: hypothetically, you're in Cariacou and a major hurricane is 2 days to the East, heading your way. Why on Earth would you stay, 'preparing' for the storm? Get the Hell out of there! Head South to Grenada or Trinidad, or even the ABC islands. It's not like you're in a house, stuck before the storm. (I have extensive Caribbean experience, as well as 3 circumnavigations, 9 transAtlantics, and more. I have a little knowledge of which I speak). (I learned to sail in the Sea Scouts right across the Bay from where you are: West River, in Galesville)

Hello Bob. Well, the whole thing is hypothetical, really; it doesn't matter what might have happened is the conclusion because it didn't. So it doesn't matter what we should have done. Some cruisers stayed and are fine. My husband has 40 years aboard and I do not; my inclination would certainly have been to get the hell out of there!

Thanks very much for the engagement.

I really hope Steve can find a way to fully recover and that you both can smile as you put the pointy end south and sail off to continue your "dream odyssey."

Thanks for your kind words Janice. As life progresses, we learn that as stated in scripture and song, there are thorns on the beautiful roses. But as scripture also teaches us, "HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT".... We learn to appreciate what we've been able to share with loved ones and to accept where we are now with thanksgiving and certainly HOPE. Your current home port at Tilghman still retains some of life's most precious elements. As challenged as they are, being able to get a glimpse of that level quality of life is wonderful. Stay well, be safe, keep your faith. And Janice, we love publishing your articles because we see value in them and hope others will also. Blessings !
