Herman! Wow! What an amazing journey he must have had, and I see you've imagined it in much detail. How long did he stay with you? Did he leave and come back like our Pidge? I guess I'll have to read more chapters. :) So fun, Janice. I'm glad you shared this chapter.
I completely immersed myself writing this, it was so interesting to do the research and map the potential route et al. We writers have such freedom.
He stayed 3.5 weeks, about 400 miles until we got to Marsh Harbour, and then he made his first vocals, the coo, and flew off the next morning. Rumor has it that a banded pigeon looking just like him has taken up residence at a Marina on Green Turtle Cay, but we couldn't find him last year.
Isn’t this the true joy of “slowing down”? In our recreation there is time to recreate ourselves and be creative … or maybe in being creative, we recreate ourselves.
Well done. It takes courage to share this part of ourselves.
I am quoting you somewhere someday Scott! Love it. Yes, Herman made me incredibly aware of the potential of combinations of whose paths could cross whose paths...
My website is EVERBODY HAS A STORY....and it's true. I've told several, but I bet lots of those hoity Biographies aren't completely non-fiction! ....
I was sure I replied to this but I do get lost on this platform, or distracted by the wit. Thanks for your kind words, Switter. Just have to find the right appliance to convey him properly!
Your praise has made me smile Miss Tania!! So much appreciated. I've not heard back from a couple of publishers and thanks to Substack have been reignited to submit, submit, again!
I am so glad you are doing this! I’ll read another chapter tomorrow.
OH Loretta now I know it will be a good day, glad you enjoyed this!! So much fun to spin the tale.
I'll email you the manuscript, but when its published you also have to buy the books!!
Thank you!

See my comment to Elizabeth, too.
All the best,

Hmm. A story about a pigeon who doesn’t have pronouns. People will vacuum it up. Good luck, Janice.
