Hey Miss Tania!! Thanks so much. I'm proud I must say. Women are so adaptable...aren't we? Spent 90 percent of my life in the mountains!

Great to see those "old/new" llyp planks, all bunged up. As Paul Luke told us, 'let your mind go anywhere it wants, but keep those hands moving.....'

I love the old bronze fittings and the look of the plugs when they are cut and sanded flush.

Delightful things!

I haunt old antique and junque stores for random bronze parts. Some day I will pull them out and install a few.

Was it USAID or a part therof that you worked with? Those details charm me the most. Those original ports! A previous owner painted them and it was one of my first goals to scrape them and retrieve the bronze patina. None of the tasks are small. ....

I enjoyed going to chandlers around Annapolis where I found a lot of old bronze fittings. Unfortunately, my boat was one that came from barrels of rosin and roles of fiberglass mat, so the bronze never really matched, so I left the stainless steel.

I worked for an NGO based in Silver Spring, and when I was in town, I spent a lot of time in the Ronald Reagan building where they removed the USAID name and logo above the entrance last Friday. I reminded me of all the times I couldn’t find my car in those underground parking garages. Not much to miss, really.

The sealed wood sure is pretty and that linseed-turpentine mix is a far more appealing smell than the fiberglass processes! (IMNSHO - 😅) Curious: What's the source of the red-orange color in the fastener holes?

Ah yes by far!! We are actually glassing the bottom prior to launch so will run the gamut of substances prior to that fine day.

Your powers of observation are keen, Elizabeth! That orange magic is the topic of my next post, so you'll have to stay tuned, as I so much appreciate you always doing.

Enjoy the week! J

I keep telling folks that it was this fabulous reader who set me back on course...asked me to appreciate each day no matter what...not to wish things away...to examine my soul...and I tell everyone how very glad I am that he spoke up. Thank you. J
